Chico’s 45th Annual 4th of July¬† Celebration- 7:30am-2:30pm. One Mile Recreation Area in Bidwell Park features a pancake breakfast, 5k run, horseshoes, fife and drum band, Chico Community Band, vender booths, games, “Let Freedom Ring” guest speaker, pie eating contest, prizes, Midnight Blues Society, raffles, lots of fun for everyone!! http://www.chicorec.com

4th of July Pignic- 12pm at the Farm Sanctuary in Orland 19080 Newville Rd. Come rub the bellies of the farms beautiful pigs and celebrate the freedom of rescued farm animals. Guided tours of the sanctuary, pus vegan hot dogs, and all the picnic trimmings. www.farmsanctuary.com

Chico Outlaws vs. Edomonton Capitals- At Nettleton Stadium 6:30pm. Parking $4, ticket pricing available at Chico Outlaws Box Office. Summer fun for entire family. Be sure to stay for the Amazing Fireworks Show!! www.chicooutlaws.com

Silver Dollar Speedway- Point Race #9. Fireworks! 410 Sprints, dirt modified, street stock all racing. Pit gates open at 2pm, front gates at 5pm, qualifying is at 6pm, and racing begins at 6:30pm. www.silverdollarspeedway.com

4th of July Celebration at Lake Oroville- 30-minute fireworks display! Takes place over the State Water Project reservoir in Butte County at 9:30pm. Grab a boat, a spot around the lake, or atop the 1-mile long Oroville Dam. There will be NO SHUTTLE this year so carpooling is encouraged. www.lakeoroville.net
